The highest priority at Auctions By the Bay is to serve all
sectors of the collecting community with absolute honesty

the auction world.
Our groundbreaking policies include:
- "No Risk Consignment Policy."™ If any lot fails
to sell, then we charge absolutely no commissions or fees.
- Security in buying at auction - we will stand behind
everything we sell as described in the catalog.
- Maximum safety from damage or breakage.
Every lot will be digitally projected onto our full size
theater screen during the sale. We will eliminate the all
too common problem of damaged merchandise caused by physically
displaying each item as it is offered for sale. All lots
will remain on display next door in our auction preview
room during the sale.
- Expanded preview schedules: All previews will continue
during the entire sale. Since our salesroom is separate from the adjacent preview
facility, there is no need to discontinue the preview during our auctions. For
our monthly general auctions, the preview schedule commences at 10:00 AM to 5:00
PM on the Friday & Saturday prior to the monthly Alameda Point Antiques and
Collectibles Faire and the day of the Faire from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On the day
of each scheduled auction, the preview will be opened for that sale at 9:00 AM
and will remain open for the entire sale.
- Education in Art and Antiques. ABB
will present, in our luxurious sales room, a constant and
ever-changing slate of seminars and guest lecturers from
all over the world.
- Full worldwide Internet access to
each auction. ABB's custom designed, user friendly website
makes auction preview at home easy and informative.
- Maximum Buyer Accessibility. All
lots will be available for live bidding in person, phone
bidding, or real time internet bidding.
- Restoration Services Department.
As an added service to our clients, our onsite restoration
department, Restorations By the Bay, offers a full range
of museum quality restoration and repair services specializing
in the restoration of fine antique furniture.
- Reasonable Buyers Premiums. Our buyers
premiums are the lowest of any major auction house in the
country.
Buyer's Premiums Are:
Under $50,000 Hammer Price: 17%
Any Portion of the Hammer Price in Excess of $50,000: 10%
